The Green Gazette

A newsletter by Viridian Club

This newsletter is a collection of all our thoughts and emotions, it is our club’s attempt to remind people that all is not lost, that if we start to bring about a change now, it would happen for sure.

The world out there cries for our help, it cries to be saved from what we are doing to it. The earthquakes, the tsunamis, the species which are becoming extinct are proof of that.

The world wants to be noticed, and if we are too busy fulfilling our greed, we would never fulfill nature’s needs.

The need to be loved and respected.

The need to be understood.

But most importantly, the need to be acknowledged.

While we stay at our homes, busy with our phones, we forget to look out of the window and see.

See not only the beauty of crimson petals on emerald leaves but also the destruction we have caused.

And when we see what we have done and compare it to what could have been done, we realize, that it is time.

It is time to do something and bring about a change.

But where does the change start? The change starts with us. In here, in our school.

At this moment, we have taken one tiny step towards something bigger and more important than us. Something that will affect not only us, but also the people who come after us.

And this newsletter is applauding that tiny step. This newsletter is applauding every student who contributed to this, this newsletter tells them that they have made a difference, that their attempt to do something good has not gone unnoticed.

Margaret Atwood said, “A word, after a word, after a word, is power.”

So we urge you all, to use that power, to pick up a pen (or a keyboard) and write. Tell the world, what you have done, what you want to do or what should be done.

Tell the world that it is burning, and maybe your words could be the ones which encourages a brave one to pick up the water hose.

ABOUT
Viridian Club

The Viridian club is the Environmental Chemistry club of Sanskriti, which aims at sustainable development at the school level. It urges students to “Go Green!” and think of innovative ways of bringing about a change in the environment, starting from our school itself. Also being the biochemistry club of the school, we also plan a number of science activities and expect the members to take part in them with equal enthusiasm. The members of Viridian are expected to be responsible, creative and passionate about bringing out a change and carrying out such initiatives.
Stay safe and GO GREEN!
